Sie widerlegt damit die Annahme, das Weben lediglich eine praktische textile Technik seie, und geht die viele Formen nach die Kette und Schu\u00df zeigen k\u00f6nnen wenn abstrakte K\u00fcnstler der letzten 100 Jahren sie benutzen. Einmal mehr wird hier die alte Einteilung in freie Kunst und Kunsthandwerk zur Diskussion gestellt. <span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Gezeigt wurden etwa 150 Arbeiten in verschiedenen Medien, von Textil und Korbflechten bis Malerei, Zeichnungen und Skulpturen um die \u00dcbereinstimmung zwischen abstrakte Kunst, Weben , Handwerk und Mode zu entdecken.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Dies war eine wichtige Ausstellung, die ich gerne selbst gesehen h\u00e4tte, was aber durch die Entfernung und die politische Lage sich nicht ergeben hatte. Diese Ausstellung hatte nicht die Absicht Textilkunst als narrative f\u00fcr gesellschaftliche Problemen zu beleuchten, wie das zum Beispiel der fall war mit The Power and Politics of Textiles in Art im Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam der Fall war (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.textile-forum-blog.org\/de\/2025\/01\/unravel-the-power-and-politics-of-textiles-in-art\/\">siehe mein Blog von 11.1.2025<\/a>). Die Kuratorin ging chronologisch vor, angefangen im 20 Jahrhundert bei Sophie Tauber-Arp, Sonia Delaunay und Anni Albers. Weitere K\u00fcnstler sind Sie bezieht auch Kleidung mit ein (Z.B. Andra Zittel, Warwara Stepanowa), nennt wichtige Lehrer (Ed Rossbach) und beschreibt ausf\u00fchrlich wie die Einsichten der K\u00fcnstler sich \u00e4nderten vom Entwerfen f\u00fcr die Industrie (Bauhaus und russische Revolution) zu individuelle Kunstwerke. Rossbach gestaltete zum Beispiel ein Kunstwerk das keine Maschine je machen konnte!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Auch hatte die Kuratorin einen weiten Blick auch auf K\u00fcnstler aus Europa, so geht sie zum Beispiel ein auf die Arbeiten von Rosemarie Trockel, die ich durch diesen Katalog endlich besser verstanden habe. Weitere grossartige K\u00fcnstler wie Gunta St\u00f6lzl, Olga de Amaral, Sheila Hicks, Kai Sekimachi, Lenore Tawney und Ruth Asawa. Aber auch j\u00fcngere Generationen wie Teresa Lanceta, Liz Collins, Igshaan Adams, Diedrick Brackens und viele Weiteren.<\/p>\n<p>Der Katalog enth\u00e4lt einen l\u00e4ngeren Beitrag von Lynne Cooke als Kuratorin:\u201cModernist Histories: Braided , Interlaced and Alligned\u201c sowie f\u00fcnf k\u00fcrzere Beitr\u00e4gen von Darby English \u201eUnavoidable Nature\u201c;
