Internationale Textiltriennale \u2013 Dekonstruktion \/ Rekonstruktion, Zentralmuseum f\u00fcr Textilien, \u0141\u00f3d\u017a, 11. Oktober 2025 \u2013 12. April 2026<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Umbenannt in die <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">18. Internationale Textiltriennale von \u0141\u00f3d\u017a\/Polen<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">, sollte diese \u00e4lteste und renommierteste internationale Veranstaltung zeitgen\u00f6ssische Textilkunst aus der ganzen Welt pr\u00e4sentieren. <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14px;\">Alle drei Jahre im Zentralmuseum f\u00fcr Textilien in \u0141\u00f3d\u017a ausgerichtet, zeigte diese Veranstaltung fr\u00fcher innovative Werke von K\u00fcnstlerinnen und K\u00fcnstlern, die die Grenzen des Textilen als Kunstform ausloteten \u2013 mit einer Verbindung von traditionellen Techniken mit modernen Ans\u00e4tzen.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14px;\">Bis zur 16. Triennale erfolgte die Auswahl der Arbeiten durch nationale Beraterinnen und Berater \u2013 ein Verfahren, das zwar nicht v\u00f6llig offen war, aber dennoch einen guten \u00dcberblick \u00fcber den Stand der neuesten Textilkunst in den jeweiligen L\u00e4ndern weltweit bot.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">F\u00fcr die <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">16. Triennale <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">gab es dann erstmals eine offene Ausschreibung. Das \u00fcbergeordnete Thema \u201e<\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Breaching Borders<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201c (\u201eGrenzen \u00fcberschreiten\u201c) war in sieben thematische Sektionen gegliedert: Migration und kulturelle Identit\u00e4t, physische Identit\u00e4t und Sexualit\u00e4t, Herkunft, Erinnerung, Psyche und Dialoge \u2013 allesamt mit dem \u00dcberschreiten von Grenzen in diesen Bereichen verbunden. Die daraus resultierende Auswahl entsprach jedoch nicht ganz den Erwartungen des Publikums. Einige \u00e4ltere Besucher meinten, sie h\u00e4tten \u201edas alles schon einmal gesehen\u201c, was auf einen Mangel an wirklich neuen, aufregenden Arbeiten hinwies.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Meine Meinung \u00fcber die Notwendigkeit, die Textilkunst zu erneuern, unterscheidet sich von der der Kuratorin <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Marta Kowalewska<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">. Ich stimme ihr in der Nutzung neuer Technologien und in einer Neubewertung des Handwerks zu, glaube aber nicht, dass eine Ver\u00e4nderung der Ikonografie hin zu wichtigeren Themen die L\u00f6sung ist. All das wurde bereits Ende der 1980er-Jahre getan, als <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Gerhard Knodel <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">(damals Professor an der Cranbrook Academy) in der Jury der Biennale von Lausanne sa\u00df. Die damals verfassten Statements wurden als \u00e4u\u00dferst bedeutend angesehen \u2013 oft schien der Text sogar wichtiger als das Werk selbst. Textilkunst sollte sich nicht l\u00e4nger nur auf das Textile beziehen, sondern bestimmte Themen \u2013 vorzugsweise gesellschaftlich und politisch relevante \u2013 aufgreifen. Diese Tendenz bedeutete damals eine Art Erneuerung der Biennale von Lausanne, verl\u00e4ngerte deren Lebensdauer jedoch nicht.<br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Bei der<\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> 17. Triennale <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">wurde das Verfahren der offenen Auschreibung wiederholt. Sie stand unter dem Thema <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201eEntangled State\u201c <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">(\u201eVerflochtener Zustand\u201c), einem vision\u00e4ren Thema, das noch vor Ausbruch der Pandemie und des Krieges in der Ukraine festgelegt wurde. F\u00fcr die Ausstellung wurde das Thema in vier Unterthemen unterteilt:<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201eThe Civilized\u201c (Welche Art von Zivilisation erschaffen wir?)<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201eRepresented States\u201c (z.B. Kindheitserinnerungen)<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201eRootedness\u201c (z.B. unsere Verwurzelung in der Natur)<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201eThe Horizons of Reality\u201c (die Grenzen zwischen Realit\u00e4t und virtueller Welt).<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Jemand fragte mich auf Facebook, ob wieder die besten textilen Arbeiten gezeigt w\u00fcrden \u2013 wie fr\u00fcher, als pro Land drei Berater die Auswahl der K\u00fcnstler trafen. Die gezeigten Werke waren vielleicht nicht die \u201ebesten\u201c im alten Sinne, aber durchaus interessante Arbeiten, die zum Nachdenken anregten. Ich war damals schon dankbar, dass die meisten Werke tats\u00e4chlich Textilkunst waren \u2013 und nicht blo\u00df bildende Kunst, die zuf\u00e4llig Textilien verwendete.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Nun zur <strong>diesj\u00e4hrigen 18.Triennale<\/strong>: Es gab mehrere \u00c4nderungen. <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Zun\u00e4chst wurde der Name ge\u00e4ndert in <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201eInternationale Textiltriennale\u201c<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">, jedoch ohne Erkl\u00e4rung seitens des Triennale-Komitees, der Kuratoren oder der Jury. Das Wort <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201eTapisserie\u201c <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">verschwand \u2013 und mit ihm, so schien es mir, auch die eigentliche Textilkunst. Ich z\u00e4hlte nur etwa <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">26 Werke<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">, die ich als \u201eTextilkunst\u201c bezeichnen w\u00fcrde (darunter auch einige schwache Arbeiten), unter den <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">70 ausgew\u00e4hlten Arbeiten<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">. Nur etwa <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">27 K\u00fcnstlerinnen und K\u00fcnstler <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">hatten \u00fcberhaupt einen textilen Hintergrund \u2013 nicht entscheidend, aber doch ein Hinweis. Nat\u00fcrlich m\u00f6gen die anderen Werke ausgezeichnet gewesen sein \u2013 aber eben <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">keine Textilkunst<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">!<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Weitere Neuerung: Diesmal gab es <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">zwei Kuratorinnen<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">, <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Marta Kowalewska <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">und <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Bukola Oyebode-Westerhuis<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">, die das Thema <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201eDeconstruction \/ Reconstruction\u201c <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">(\u201eDekonstruktion \/ Rekonstruktion\u201c) f\u00fcr diese Ausstellung ausw\u00e4hlten. Das Thema ist inspiriert von den Herausforderungen der Gegenwart, die ein Umdenken alter Systeme und die Suche nach neuen Wegen f\u00fcr eine bessere Zukunft verlangen. Die Kuratorinnen baten die teilnehmenden K\u00fcnstlerinnen und K\u00fcnstler, <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">ein Portfolio einer Werkreihe <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">inklusive Beschreibungen einzureichen, um daraus die endg\u00fcltigen Werke auszuw\u00e4hlen. Dieses Verfahren machte die Ausstellung eher zu einer <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">kuratierenden Auswahl <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">als zu einem offenen Aufruf. Gibt man ein Thema vor, erwartet man logisch ein f\u00fcr diesen Anlass geschaffenes Werk \u2013 das Einreichen eines Portfolios dagegen deutet auf eine <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">kuratierte Ausstellung <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">hin, die die Sichtweise der beiden Kuratorinnen widerspiegelt<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Die internationale Jury w\u00e4hlte ausschlie\u00dflich die <strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Preistr\u00e4gerwerke <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">aus. Da die Jury erneut eher auf bildende Kunst ausgerichtet war, wurden vor allem Arbeiten ausgezeichnet, in denen die erz\u00e4hlerische Ebene dominierte \u2013 w\u00e4hrend das Textile eine Nebenrolle spielte. So geschah es, dass <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">zwei der Preise gar keine echte Textilkunst <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">betrafen, sondern Kunst, die Textilien lediglich <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">verwendete<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">:<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Die <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Goldmedaille <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">ging an <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Aziza Qadyri (Usbekistan) <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">f\u00fcr <\/span><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201eHer Stage (II)\u201c<\/span><\/em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">, eine weiche Skulptureninstallation \u00fcber ihre Gro\u00dfmutter, die ihren Traum, Volkst\u00e4nzerin zu werden, aufgab. (Ich konnte keine besondere textile Bearbeitung erkennen \u2013 der Inhalt der Geschichte war entscheidend, nicht das Material.)<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Die <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Silbermedaille <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">erhielt <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u0141ukasz Wojtanowski (Polen) <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">f\u00fcr <\/span><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201eCorpus Christi Procession (green)\u201c<\/span><\/em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">, ein echtes Textilkunstwerk, auch wenn ich schon bessere Arbeiten von ihm gesehen habe.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Die <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Bronzemedaille <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">ging an <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Charlott Marcus<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">, eine schwedische K\u00fcnstlerin mit Wohnsitz in Amsterdam, f\u00fcr<\/span><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201ePartition #8\u201c<\/span><\/em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">, eine Mixed-Media-Audioinstallation aus Vorh\u00e4ngen eines psychiatrischen Krankenhauses \u2013 mit einem narrativen Bezug zu dessen Bewohnern. Hier standen die Vorh\u00e4nge nicht im Mittelpunkt, sondern die Erz\u00e4hlung.<br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Weitere \u00c4nderungen:<\/strong><br \/>\nFr\u00fchere Triennalen zeigten parallel die <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Nationale Ausstellung Polnischer Tapisserie<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">, zuletzt unter dem Titel <\/span><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201eMaterial Fatigue\u201c<\/span><\/em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">, ebenfalls im Zentralmuseum f\u00fcr Textilien. Kurator <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Jakub Gawkowski <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">wollte \u201edie Position der Textilkunst innerhalb der breiteren polnischen Kunstlandschaft hervorheben\u201c, was jedoch entt\u00e4uschend war \u2013 insbesondere f\u00fcr diejenigen, die die polnische Textilkunst kennen und bessere Werke erwartet hatten.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Diesmal wurde die in den Niederlanden lebende Kuratorin <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Bukola Oyebode-Westerhuis <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">gebeten, eine Ausstellung <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">afrikanischer Kunst von Frauen <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">zu zeigen: <\/span><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201eRhizomatic Portals: Ways of Knowing\u201c<\/span><\/em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">, ganz im Sinne des Fokus auf den <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201eGlobalen S\u00fcden\u201c<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">. Noch nie zuvor waren so viele afrikanische L\u00e4nder bei der Triennale vertreten (Uganda, Ghana, Nigeria, \u00c4thiopien, Senegal, S\u00fcdafrika) \u2013 ebenso L\u00e4nder, die vermutlich erstmals teilnahmen (Jemen, Bosnien, Kasachstan, Usbekistan, Haiti, Sri Lanka, Mongolei, Taiwan). Viele der K\u00fcnstlerinnen und K\u00fcnstler leben allerdings in London, Paris oder Amsterdam.<br \/>\nDie meisten Teilnehmenden K\u00fcnstler kamen aus <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Polen (15)<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">, <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">den Niederlanden (12)<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">, <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Frankreich und den USA (je 7)<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">, <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Deutschland (5)<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">, <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">der Ukraine (3)<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">, sowie <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Belgien, Gro\u00dfbritannien, Griechenland und \u00d6sterreich (je 2)<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Begleitveranstaltungen<\/strong> der diesj\u00e4hrigen Triennale waren wieder einige Performances, ein sehr interessanter Vortrag von <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Ibrahim Mahama <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">(der ausdr\u00fccklich betonte, sich nicht als Textilk\u00fcnstler zu sehen), sowie die <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Young Textile Art Triennale (YTAT)<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">, organisiert von der <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Streminski-Akademie der Sch\u00f6nen K\u00fcnste <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">in der <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">St\u00e4dtischen Kunstgalerie \u0141\u00f3d\u017a<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">.<br \/>\nWeitere Textilkunstausstellungen \u2013 wie jene \u00fcber <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Jonatan E. Jurkowski <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">im <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Book Art Museum <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2013 wurden nicht als Begleitprogramm erw\u00e4hnt, obwohl dort echte Textilkunst in einer magischen Atmosph\u00e4re zu sehen war. Mehr \u00fcber diese textilen Ereignisse in \u0141\u00f3d\u017a wird sp\u00e4ter ver\u00f6ffentlicht!<br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Mein Fazit:<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Dieses einst so ber\u00fchmte Textilereignis von \u0141\u00f3d\u017a ist mittlerweile zu einer ganz normalen Veranstaltung der bildenden Kunst geworden \u2013 wie es sie in jedem europ\u00e4ischen Land mehrfach gibt. In Bezug auf echte Textilkunst darf man heute wohl <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">mehr von der Contextile in Portugal <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">oder der <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Triennale in Riga (Lettland) <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">erwarten \u2013 dort gibt es noch eine wirklich offene Ausschreibung und eine fachkundige Jury mit Textilkenntnissen.<br \/>\n<\/span><em>Beatrijs Sterk, <\/em>October 2025<\/p>\n<p>P.S.
