September 2024 gab es auf der Contextile 7 mehr als nur eine sehr wichtige internationale Textilkunstausstellung. Es gab begleitende Veranstaltungen wie die Textilkunstausstellung des Gastlandes Kanada, die Ausstellung aller Bildungsinstitute in Portugal, die textile Lehrg\u00e4nge anbieten, und die fantastische Ausstellung mit Werken von Josep Grau-Garriga, die vielen der j\u00fcngeren Besucher, die seine Werke zum ersten Mal sahen, die Augen \u00f6ffnete! Der folgende Tag war Vortr\u00e4gen von Contextile-Teilnehmern aus den verschiedenen Ausstellungen und aus verschiedenen L\u00e4ndern gewidmet. Weitere Veranstaltungen waren Workshops und Ausstellungen der Ergebnisse der k\u00fcnstlerischen Residenzen sp\u00e4ter im September.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #1f1f1f;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"de-DE\">Kanada ist das eingeladene Land: Die Biennale International du Lin de Portneuf ist seit 8 Jahren Partner von Contextile. In diesem Jahr wurden die Kanadier eingeladen, eine Ausstellung aktueller zeitgen\u00f6ssischer Kunst aus Kanada zu kuratieren. Diese Ausstellung zeigt den Drang der kanadischen K\u00fcnstler, k\u00fcnstlerische Grenzen zu \u00fcberschreiten, die textile Kenntnisse und konzeptionelle Ans\u00e4tze zeitgen\u00f6ssischer Praktiken integrieren. Bei der Wahl der Kuratoren lag der Schwerpunkt auf traditionellen Medien wie Stickerei (verwendet von Anna Torma, Caroline Monnet und Barbara Todd), Tapisserie (verwendet von Line Dufour), Weberei (Meghan Price und Hannah Claus) und Jacquardweberei (Ruth Scheuing). Skulpturen kamen in den Werken von Sarah Stevenson und Guillaume Brisson-Darveau zum Einsatz, Installationen zeigten sich auf spektakul\u00e4re Weise bei Carole Simard Laflamme, und Videos wurden von Graeme Patterson verwendet. Meine Favoriten waren die atemberaubende Installation eines \u00fcbergro\u00dfen Kimonos aus Papier von Carole Simard Laflamme, deren Pr\u00e4sentation einen ganzen Raum einnahm, und die bekannte Stickereiarbeit von Anna Torma, die ich seit Jahrzehnten bewundere. Ihre Stickereien mit menschlichen Figuren und wilden Tieren zeigen die Fantasie eines Hieronymus Bosch, aber mit einem anderen Geist: ich f\u00fchle mich gl\u00fccklicher, je l\u00e4nger ich ihre Arbeit betrachte!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><br \/>\nDie gro\u00dfartige Tapisserie \u201eDestiny and Self-Determination\u201c wurde teilweise von der organisierenden K\u00fcnstlerin Line Dufour gewebt, die das erste Panel von 152,40 x 91,44 cm webte. Der zweite Teil im Format 152,40 x 548,60 cm wurde von Gastteilnehmern, sowohl K\u00fcnstlern als auch Amateuren, gewebt. Der mittlere Teil w\u00e4chst noch, da K\u00fcnstler ein unregelm\u00e4\u00dfig geformtes St\u00fcck Tapisserie einsenden k\u00f6nnen, das zwischen den beiden Hauptteilen positioniert wird. Bis heute sind 1077 fertige Formen aus 44 L\u00e4ndern eingegangen, gewebt von insgesamt 649 Teilnehmern. Vertreten waren hier die Escola Artistica Ant\u00f3nio Arroio aus Lissabon, die Escola Artistica Soares dos Reis aus Porto, die Escola Superior de Arte e Design aus Matosinhos, die Faculdade de belas Artes da Universidade de Lisboa, die Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto, die Universidade da Beira Interior aus Colvilha sowie die Escola de Arquitetura, Arte e Design da Universidade do Minho aus Guimaraes. Ich hatte den Eindruck, dass das Studium der Textilkunst und des Textildesigns bei jungen Leuten immer beliebter wird. Die Ausstellung \u201eThe Threads of Memory\u201c vereint eine Sammlung textiler Arbeiten von Josep Grau-Garriga, die zwischen 1972 und 2000 entstanden sind. Die Auswahl rund um das Thema Erinnerung beleuchtet eigenwillige Aspekte des Schaffens des K\u00fcnstlers, sowohl formal als auch inhaltlich.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><br \/>\nDiese Ausstellung wurde von Lala de Dios und Esther Grau Quintana kuratiert, denen es gelang, eine gro\u00dfe Anzahl der riesigen Tapisserien nach Guimaraes zu bringen. Ich kannte einige der Arbeiten von Fotos, aber sie in der Realit\u00e4t in riesigen Installationen zu sehen, war ziemlich \u00fcberw\u00e4ltigend. Ich war nicht die Einzige, die Grau-Garriga als einen der gro\u00dfen Erneuerer der Tapisserie wiederentdeckt zu haben schien. Ich h\u00f6rte viele junge Besucher zu Recht sagen, wie sehr sie von seiner Arbeit beeindruckt waren, und sich die Frage stellten, warum sie nichts von ihm wussten!<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #1f1f1f;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"de-DE\">In der zweiten H\u00e4lfte des 20. Jahrhunderts ver\u00e4nderte sich die alte Tapisseriekunst endg\u00fcltig. Von ihrem Ursprung als Wandmalerei \u00fcber die Arbeiten in der Teppich- und Tapisseriewerkstatt in Sant Cygat, Barcelona, bis hin zu ihrer Zeit in der Werkstatt von Jean Lur\u00e7at, betrat die Tapisseriekunst das Feld der erweiterten Skulptur, indem zun\u00e4chst Reliefs und Volumen und sp\u00e4ter der Raum eingef\u00fchrt wurden unter Verwendung bescheidener und allt\u00e4glicher Fasern und Materialien, die weit von den reichen traditionellen Materialien der Tapisserien entfernt, aber mit enormer St\u00e4rke und Ausdruckskraft ausgestattet sind.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #1f1f1f;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"de-DE\">Grau-Garrigas Arbeit ist eine kontinuierliche \u00dcbung der pers\u00f6nlichen und kollektiven Erinnerung an das Territorium, in dem er lebte.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #1f1f1f;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"de-DE\">Die textile Innovation, die Grau-Garriga vertrat, betonte die greifbare Wiederaneignung der Sch\u00f6pfung sowie die Integration von textilen Materialien voller Erinnerungen. Assadour Markarov, der in China arbeitende bulgarische Textilk\u00fcnstler, erz\u00e4hlte von der 5. Hangzhou Triennale f\u00fcr Textilkunst im Jahr 2025. Zara Orel stellte die Textilkunstbiennale BIEN in Slowenien vor. Esther Grau Quintana sprach \u00fcber Josep Grau-Garriga: \u201eErinnerung als roter Faden in Grau-Garrigas Werk.\u201c Lala de Dios, Co-Kuratorin der Ausstellung, hielt den Vortrag \u201eA Pioneer&#8217;s Work: from Traditional Tapestry to Contemporary Art\u201c. Dann gab es einen Vortrag von Laura Siles aus Spanien \u00fcber die Erforschung von Kreativit\u00e4t und Umweltbewusstsein. Domenika Krogulska-Czekalska aus Polen sprach \u00fcber \u201eTranscending Threads: Exploring Post-Textile Discourse in Activism\u201c.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #1f1f1f;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"de-DE\">Ein weiteres pers\u00f6nliches Highlight kam f\u00fcr mich einen Tag sp\u00e4ter, als ich f\u00fcr einige Stunden an einem Workshop zum Herstellen von Papierf\u00e4den mit Mylene Boisvert aus Kanada teilnehmen konnte.
